Only two Kenyans remain in contention out of the 10 that had been entered in the competition.

Two more Kenyan boxers were bundled out of the ongoing Women's World Boxing Championships in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday to take the total number of Kenyans eliminated from the competition to eight and extend Kenya's tough outing so far.

Bantamweight Amina Martha and lightweight Stacy Ayoma are the latest Kenyan casualties in the list of eliminated boxers.

Ayoma lost by a unanimous points decision to DRC's Jocelyn Tshamala while Martha was beaten 5-0 on points by Poland’s Wiktoria Rogalinska.

Kenya had entered 10 boxers in the 12th edition of IBA Women's World Championships but only two are remaining from the 10, with eight already bundled out.

Light-middleweight Lorna Kusa, minimumweight Christine Ongare, flyweight Ann Wanjiru, featherweight Beatrice Akoth, middleweight Elizabeth Akinyi, and light-welter Teresia Wanjiru, and now Martha and Ayoma have all been boxed out of contention, with only welterweight Everlyn Akinyi, and light-heavyweight Liz Andiego being the only ones left.

Akinyi will be in action in the Round of 16 on Sunday with Andiego taking the stage in the quarter-finals on Monday.

Akinyi, a former deadly striker with Manyatta United FC in Kisumu during her heydays in football, meets 2019 African Games bronze medallist Ivanusa Moreira of Cape Verde in the round of 16 on Sunday with battle-hardened Andiego taking on either Turkey's Elif Guneri or South Africa's Mkateko Sithole in the quarters on Monday.
